New Orleans rapper Curren$y sat down with AOL's The Boombox for a Black Music Month conversation recently. He was asked what rapper he thought best represented black music and gave a very interesting answer.

"Pharrell, of course he's not old enough to have been around for all the different eras of music, but he represents all the different eras of music that we've been through," Spitta said. "He's very vocal about the struggle that he went through... just in the industry and making his bones. The hurdles and people taking advantage. And through it all he's still taking pictures on a Phantom."

Check out the rest of Spitta's conversation with Boombox about Pharrell and the first time he heard The Sugarhill Gang's classic "Rapper's Delight."
